Winemaker Notes

Our 5th vintage, the 2016 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, is a delicate, delicious Pinot Noir. With a gorgeous slight purple hue, and a complex nose with red fruit, spice, and forest floor this wine entices the senses. The mouthfeel is balanced and crisp, with supple tannins and a lingering finish. 2016 was an ideal growing season, with normal to high yields and great flavor without sugar-loading.  Harvest began on Sept. 6th and continued for a little over a week.

Vineyards

The 2016 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir was produced using fruit from three vineyards in the AVA: Moore Family vineyard, Hogan’s Run vineyard, and Sullivan Family vineyard. The three vineyards are each in different corners of the Russian River Valley AVA and thus each have their own unique characteristics and impacts to the grapes.
